Having worn divers watches most of my life, when the time came to by a Swiss Movement I assumed the Omega “James Bond” would be the one. Unfortunately for my wallet, the salesman pulled out the new Diver’s Titanium for comparison. The weight difference was *striking* and the new style case and face left an indelible impression I could not escape. Yes, you definitely pay a premium for titanium. However, for my tastes, this is the most elegant of all divers watches currently available. The blue dial, larger hands, and large markings on the bezel create a totally unique look. The titanium is a darker metal than staleness steel, further adding to this watch’s mystique. At the same time, this is a rugged watch for any water sports. Goes equally well with a Wetsuit or a Tux.
The accuracy of my particular watch is about +1.5 seconds per day. If you like the stainless, don’t mind the weight, and don’t care about fine Swiss matchmaking, get the quartz for a lot less money, and more accuracy. Have no fear of the “gray market”. I got mine from WatchesOnTheNet.com. They did a perfect job and delivered everything but the 2 year Omega warranty. That’s what you give up to get the pricing, but WatchesOnTheNet.com replaces it with their own equal warranty. But folks, with a watch like this that will last 50 years, unless you get a lemon, what’s the difference?
Ask any high end watchmaker and they will tell you that Omega watches are equal to Rolex in every way but price. No, you don’t have near the status symbol hanging on your wrist with an Omega. So if that’s *really* what you need, dig a *lot* deeper into your wallet and prove to others that you can. Otherwise, go with Omega. [from epinions.com]
